THE WANDERERS ROD & CUSTOM CLUB From the president .............. Hotrods and Customs……For just about all
of us in the sport it’s a part of life, it’s in our blood like an addiction.
Oh sure, I bet there’s been many a time when we’ve had enough and lets not
forget the physical and mental strain of it all. (Make a good lawsuit). Ok, so
why, like moths to an open flame, do we somehow always manage to drift back to
it? Stuffed
if I know. “Must Be Just For The Love Of It.” There’s no other real
explanation. I know it for a fact, turning that key and hearing the sweet sound of a V8 fire up gets my blood pumping, as it would many others. And we’re talking “cubic inches”, people, not litres or Kw's. Cruising and hanging out with the rest of the gang is all just part of it. Rob
T. and I got talking one day about car clubs and the idea of starting our own
was toyed with since any other club was too far away. It had to be a club that
would be laid back and easy going. A club that was without all the politics’
which has been the demise of so many clubs. Most of all it had to be a club that
was not run by few, but owned by all. And what of a name for this club? It was
too hard, but a bit of persistence and “The Wanderers Rod and Custom Car Club
of Australia” was born. A few more headaches with the logo but eventually it
all came about in the end. Next
came 50’s style jackets that were embroidered with the clubs logo, (146,000
stitches) and the word went out for members.
That was then and now the club has a growing membership with a lot of generated interest. Being also affiliated with the ASRF gives the club a legitimate standing in the car scene. We
hope to create within our club a family generated environment where members can
come together as one big family and enjoy the sport. We strongly believe that
“you will only get out of it what you put in” and therefore try to involve
all its members in the organization and running of club activities. We encourage
all members to have their say and value everybody’s opinion on the clubs
matters. Our
club will only survive on the merit of its members and what we can see so far
gives the indication that we’re going to be around for a long time and we
would love your company, so come join us.
I’m Mark G. and thanks for your time in viewing our site. Mark
